Newsom proposes $600 payments to Californians in need and extending COVID-19 eviction moratorium

With a state law protecting California tenants from pandemic-related evictions expiring at the end of this month, Gov. Gavin Newsom proposed Wednesday to extend the protections tand expedite distribution of $2.6 billion in federal rental assistance for low-income tenants.
