Prisoners Must Have Cheesecake, Sixth Circuit Rules

"As this case powerfully illustrates, people who are incarcerated retain basic constitutional rights like the freedom to practice their religion," said Daniel Korobkin, of the ACLU of Michigan, who represented two Jewish inmates who alleged their religious rights were infringed upon when they were denied cheesecake on the Shavuot holiday.
